the end of year SHOWCASE #2 exhibition...
The Art department recently held its second student artwork exhibition, this year at Wymondham Arts Centre. The exhibition was a huge success and proved to be very popular with the general public, with much praise in the Centre's visitor book. Over the summer break we will be uploading pictures from the exhibition.
celebrities send their good wishes...
Thirty celebrities from Sport, TV and the Arts have sent their good wishes to Wymondham High students who are about to take their exams over the next few weeks. Their photos and letters have been turned into a wide format poster which can be seen in one of the display cabinets in reception at the Folly Road entrance to school.
we were in the EDP...
Our Wall of Inspiration (below) was so impressive that a reporter and photographer from the EDP came in to school to look at it. Their article was printed on page 3 of the EDP on Tuesday 15th June. The web version can be viewed on their web site HERE
German students say farewell...
We welcomed a group of students from Germany last week as part of a music exchange visit. The Jazz Band of Gymnasium Waldstrasse Hattingen were with us until the 30th June and performed at the Wymondham Festival alongside our own musicians. Pictures will be on the music page soon, watch this space... Needless to say there was much merriment over the 4-1 score line between England and Germany in the World Cup...
we won the photography competition
Last term, we reported on the 6 Year 9 Art Fast-Track Photography students who had their digital photographs shortlisted in The EDP and Pensthorpe NatureWatch photography competition. We are pleased to say that the six Year 9 Art Fast-Track Photography students have won the schools competition. The winning entries can be viewed on the Art home page
